Membership is free and open to practitioners worldwide. The community is organised into four standing working groups, each pairing people who set AI policy with the people who ship AI systems, so guidance stays grounded in what actually deploys.

AI Governance & the EU AI Act

Translating regulation into practice for organizations operating in and beyond the EU.

Tracks the obligations that actually bind: prohibitions, GPAI duties, the Article 50 transparency rules, and the high-risk deadlines deferred to December 2027 by the Digital Omnibus. Works from the compliance library on AIHub rather than from summaries.

Frontier Research

Foundation models, safety, interpretability, and multimodal systems.

For people reading and producing the literature. Paper discussions, reproductions, and what the current generation of models can and cannot be relied on to do.

Enterprise Adoption

Real-world deployment patterns, ROI, and change management.

Grounded in the sourced case study library: what deployments actually cost, where they stall, and which measured outcomes hold up when you read the primary source.

Small, practitioner-only discussions on a single question, usually hybrid so members outside Switzerland can take part.

Working sessions on a specific artefact, such as a risk assessment or an AI management system, using the toolkit playbooks as the starting point.

Open sessions where members present what they are building, what broke, and what they would do differently.

What is the AI Hub Swiss practitioner community?

A free, global community of AI researchers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers, organised into four standing working groups: AI governance and the EU AI Act, frontier research, enterprise adoption, and AI literacy. Each group deliberately mixes people who set AI policy with people who ship AI systems.

Do I need to be in Switzerland to join?

No. The community is Swiss-based but open worldwide, and sessions are usually hybrid so members outside Switzerland can take part. Nothing about membership requires you to be in the country.

How much does it cost to join the AI community?

Nothing. There is no membership fee, no paid tier, and no upgrade. AIHub is a non-profit, information-only platform with no advertising or paid placement.

Can I contribute financially to the community?

You can offer a voluntary contribution when you apply, and it changes nothing about your application. Contributions cover running costs for a non-profit; they are not a membership fee, and reviewers are not influenced by them. Nothing is charged on this site and no card details are collected here: if you offer an amount, we email you a secure payment link afterwards, and you are free to ignore it.

Which AI working group should I join?

Pick by what you do rather than by seniority. Compliance, legal, and risk professionals get most from AI governance and the EU AI Act. Researchers and ML engineers fit frontier research. People running deployments belong in enterprise adoption. Those responsible for training and capability building fit AI literacy and talent. Members can follow more than one.

What happens at community events?

Three formats: roundtables on a single question, workshops that produce a specific artefact such as a risk assessment or an AI management system, and community sessions where members present what they built and what broke. Schedules are announced to members by email rather than published publicly.
